Laura Maldonado has been appointed as General Manager at Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel

Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel welcomes Laura Maldonado to her role as General Manager. Originally from Puerto Rico, Laura fell in love with the hospitality industry at a young age due to the regular weekend family outings spent visiting local hotels. Laura fell in love with the art of service provided by the industry and the overall guest experience.

With a passion for hospitality, Laura studied at the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. After graduating, Laura moved to New York where she served in a variety of guest service roles for leading hotel brands including Wyndham and Hilton. After spending nearly six years in New York, Laura moved to Key West, Florida where she accepted a role as Assistant General Manager for the Southernmost Beach Resort, where she oversaw all resort operations. Following a successful three years in Key West, Laura moved to Miami where she accepted her first General Manager role at The Gates South Beach - A Doubletree by Hilton. During her time at The Gates South Beach, Laura led complete operational and revenue overhauls, built a new property team and received recognition for her performance as General Manager.

Following her time in the sunshine state Laura accepted her current role as General Manager at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel. Laura and her team of hoteliers embody the Kimpton "Stay Human" mantra through their appreciation for each other and the emphasis placed on celebrating one's unique self. In her spare time Maldonado enjoys exploring Portland's restaurant scene with her husband and spending time with her beloved dog, Ginger.
