Sylvia Wardzala has been appointed General Manager at Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island
Guido Kerpel, COO of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, announces the appointment of Sylvia Wardzala as the general manager of the company's newly acquired Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island in Jekyll Island, Ga. A dedicated hospitality professional, Ms. Wardzala is passionate about providing exemplary guest experiences at the beach-front resort.
Before joining New Castle Hotels & Resorts, Ms. Wardzala served as the complex general manager for Crestline Hotels & Resorts, overseeing three hotels in Jacksonville, Fla. for the past five and a half years. She earned the prestigious honor of being named General Manager of the Year by the company. During her impressive career, she also served as general manager for multiple other brand hotels in Florida and Louisiana. Ms. Wardzala, a native of Poland who moved to the U.S. when she was 18, began her career in the hospitality industry with Marriott in 2012.
New Castle Hotels & Resorts acquired the 158-room Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island in early 2022. The property is located on more than seven acres of beachfront on one of Georgia's southernmost islands. The company will invest an additional $3.6 million in resort improvements.
