Francisco Vargas has been appointed as Executive Chef at Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya

As the executive chef of Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya, Chef Vargas leads the resort's expansive food & beverage program, incorporating a global array of flavors marked with local traditions to offer an exciting variety with rich authenticity.

Chef Vargas brings over 18 years of culinary experience in the restaurant and luxury hospitality space to the resort. Originally from Mexico City, Vargas honed his skills at some of the city's top restaurants early in his career. Inspired by his own family cooking traditions, Vargas specializes in Mexican fare while extending into a wide range of world influences including Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, Spanish and American.

Chef Vargas first began his career with the famed Grupo Vidanta hospitality group, where he spent 12 years identifying his culinary style, followed by his role as Executive Sous Chef of the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Los Cabos. Most recently, Vargas played a crucial role in defining the food & beverage program at the opening of Conrad Punta de Mita in Nayarit in 2020.
