William Elkington

Woodside Hotel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of William Elkington as the new director of sales and marketing at Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, an iconic oceanfront hotel perched directly on Cannery Row overlooking Monterey Bay. In this role, Elkington leads the implementation of the annual business plan to achieve the hotel's group sales goals and oversees the leisure sales, marketing strategies and public relations for the 290-room hotel.

Boasting over a decade of experience working with leading hotel brands across the country, Elkington has been the hotel's director of group sales since 2018. His esteemed work ethic and industry expertise has led him to consistently exceeded revenue goals and successfully mentor and train sales staff year after year.

Previously, Elkington was the national sales manager at The Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, Calif and associate director of sales at Koloa Landing Resort, a Marriott Autograph Collection in Koloa, Hawaii. For six years prior, he held positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide properties, including Sheraton Kauai Resort in Koloa, Hawii and W Minneapolis - The Foshay. He attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minn. and the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, U.K.
