Marcela Steffens has been appointed as General Manager at Marriott Barranquilla Hotel

Marriott International is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcela Steffens as General Manager of the new Marriott Barranquilla Hotel. Steffens has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, during which time she has held leadership positions that have enriched her resume and today profile her as an integral professional in the hospitality industry, who will assume the leadership of Marriott International's first hotel in Barranquilla.

She is a law graduate from the Universi dad del Rosario; however, her passion is the hotel industry and it is in this industry where she has worked since 1997.

In her career she has worked for properties in Colombia and Panama. She started in Bogota where she assumed positions in the reception and reservations area.

In 2002 he left his native Colombia to move to Panama City and start a new opportunity as Events and Marketing Manager in a hotel in this city.

Six years later she returned to her country, where he held several positions, among them the general management of The Artisan D.C. Hotel, Autograpgh Collection, the first hotel under the Autograph Collection brand in Colombia, and the beginning of his career with Marriott International.

From there she had the opportunity to move to another Marriott hotel, the AC Bogota Zona Z, since its pre-opening, and where she focused on commercial, administrative, human resources and operations strategies for a successful opening.
Among Marcela Steffens' grea t passions is dancing, as she believes it is the best way to stay cheerful and clear-minded, so she has been dancing weekly for 10 years. She also loves spending time with her nieces Lucca, Rebecca and Sabrina. Marcela and her husband Juan José enjoy dinner together experiencing excellent culinary options.
