Matthew Slippoy has been appointed as General Manager at Tempo by Hilton Times Square
Hilton has named Matthew Slippoy as the general manager of Tempo by Hilton Times Square, scheduled to open in the second half of 2023. Located at 47th Street and Broadway at TSX Broadway, the property will mark the global premiere of Hilton's newest lifestyle brand, Tempo by Hilton.
Slippoy is passionate about opening hotels and has debuted six hotels in the New York City market during his 20-year career. Slippoy joined the hospitality industry as assistant front office manager at Trump International Hotel & Tower New York before joining Mandarin Oriental New York as guest services manager. He moved on to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, serving as assistant general manager at 70 Park Avenue Hotel and was part of the opening training team, traveling around the country to prepare staff for upcoming hotel openings. Over the last decade, Slippoy has served as general manager of Westminster Hotel & Catering Hall in Livingston, New Jersey and opening general manager of Lex Hotel NYC, EVEN Hotel New York - Midtown East, an IHG Hotel, and most recently, Thompson Central Park New York.
Slippoy is a graduate of the hotel management program at the George Brown School of Hospitality.
