Derrick Erwee has been appointed as General Manager at Danfords Hotel & Marina

Danfords Hotel & Marina — the newly renovated waterfront property and full-service marina situated in the heart of historic Port Jefferson Village on Long Island's North Shore — is pleased to announce that Derrick Erwee has been appointed as the hotel's new General Manager. Erwee will utilize his extensive skills from over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and food and beverage industries as he oversees operations at Danfords Hotel & Marina.

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Erwee brings to his new role more than two decades of hospitality experience with an extensive food and beverage background. Erwee managed various restaurants and private clubs in Cape Town before moving to the United States in 2009. Erwee developed his hospitality expertise all along the East Coast, working as Restaurant Manager of Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, FL; Clubhouse Manager at the Muttontown Club in New York, NY; and Food & Beverage Manager at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, ME. Most recently, Erwee served as the Assistant General Manager at Sound View Greenport on the North Fork of Long Island, NY.
