Joseph Murphy has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba
Following his graduation from Westminster Kingsway College with a Professional Chef Diploma in 2001, Mr. Murphy began his culinary career at Sheraton Grand, London Park as a 1st Commis, where he remained until 2005. From 2005 through 2012, Murphy held various positions in different kitchens throughout England and Australia, including The Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall; The Sheraton on the Park, Sydney; The Langham Hotel, London; and Alison Price. In 2012, Murphy was appointed as the Banquet Chef for The St. Regis Doha, Qatar, which was his first position at a Marriott International property, eventually becoming the property's Executive Chef in 2017. Murphy left the property in 2018 to take on the role of Executive Chef at Marriott Doha Hotel Qatar and then The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, where he remained until 2023.
In his new position, Mr. Murphy will oversee the culinary operations for all dining venues at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba including BLT Steak, Casa Nonna New York, Solanio, Divi Sushi Bar & Lounge, and Madero Pool & Beach Grill. Murphy will be responsible for a multitude of tasks, specifically leading all kitchen operations, ensuring culinary standards are met, and providing exceptional service to all guests. Alongside his many responsibilities, Murphy will implement his stellar self-organization, interpersonal communication, and leadership skills, as well as maintaining high standards.
