Alex Andrade has been appointed as Managing Director at Viceroy Los Cabos
Viceroy Los Cabos - the premier oceanfront resort located in the heart of San José del Cabo - is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Andrade as Managing Director of Viceroy Los Cabos. With more than two decades of experience and extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, Andrade will oversee all day-to-day resort operations and initiatives to further elevate the guest experience. With unparalleled expertise and masterful leadership skills, Andrade will lead the hotel into the future of the travel and hospitality space - while continuing to uphold the exceptional service the resort is known for and deliver the highest standard of hospitality for guests.
Andrade began his career in food and beverage, holding leadership roles at Hyatt and Westin properties in several key cities in the U.S. such as Los Angeles, Vail and Chicago. He then transitioned from food and beverage to hotel operations and held general manager roles at several notable properties across Latin America, including the Fiesta Americana in Cancun, the Hyatt Cancun Caribe Villas and Resorts and the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico.
Andrade has also held senior leadership roles within the Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, AM Resorts and Playa Hotels and Resorts. In his most recent role, Andrade served as the vice president of operations at AM Resorts, where he oversaw a portfolio of 16 resorts from various brands such as Dreams, Secrets, Hyatt Vivid, Breathless, Now and Zoetry.
Born in Mexico but raised in Illinois, Andrade is a graduate of The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the U.S. and is thrilled to continue his career in hospitality in Los Cabos.
