Tomas Ford has been appointed as General Manager at Santa Marta Marriott Resort Playa Dormida
Tomás has over 23 years of experience in the hotel industry. In 2000, he began his career with Marriott at the Marriott Plaza Hotel in Buenos Aires.
In 2008, he moved to Europe, where he held various operations leadership positions at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott, Bexleyheath Marriott, and Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel. In 2013, Tomas was promoted to Housekeeping Manager at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel and Country Club. During his tenure in Europe, Tomas achieved outstanding results in associate engagement, housekeeping profits and guest satisfaction. He was recognized as Manager of the Year in 2012. In 2016, Tomas moved on as Operations Manager for the JW Marriott El Convento Cusco, Peru. In 2018, he was promoted to General Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott in Guayaquil, Ecuador. At the end of 2020, Tomas took the opportunity to lead the Four Points by Sheraton Santiago, Chile. Finally, in 2023 his management and leadership bring a new challenge and achievement to his career as General Manager of the Santa Marta Marriott Resort Playa Dormida, committed to providing wonderful experiences to domestic and foreign guests.
Tomas is a big rugby fan and enjoys training in the gym and sports activities. During the weekends, he enjoys spending time with his family and his favorite activity is cooking.
