The Pennywell St. Louis Downtown, a Hilton Hotel, offering a cultured boutique hotel experience nestled in the heart of the city, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Zachary Sporbert to general manager. With two decades of expertise, Sporbert brings to the team a leadership style that places equal emphasis on both the well-being of employees and the satisfaction of hotel guests, strategically guiding the hotel's hospitality professionals to deliver an unparalleled guest experience while maintaining financial goals.
A graduate of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management, Sporbert embarked on his hospitality journey in 2003 as a bellman for Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. His career trajectory led him to Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in 2008, initially as the bell lead and later as the housekeeping supervisor. Relocating to Seattle from 2011 to 2016, Sporbert assumed the roles of housekeeping manager and front desk manager at W Seattle. In 2017, he returned to Arizona to join The Camby, Autograph Collection as the director of front office, later advancing to the director of rooms in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Sporbert took the role of director of rooms at The St. Regis Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. Most recently he rejoined The Camby as the assistant general manager.
Sporbert's extensive experience in the hospitality industry has provided him with unique opportunities to forge meaningful relationships with professionals and guests alike, exposing him to diverse cities and cultures across the U.S. along the way. Actively involved in the local community, Sporbert served on the advisory board for Scottsdale Community College's hotel and restaurant management program during his time in Phoenix.
In his current role as The Pennywell's general manager, Sporbert is dedicated to elevating the brand and guest experience to offer an authentic and memorable St. Louis encounter. Beyond the hotel, his passion revolves around family as a devoted husband and proud father of two toddlers. When not immersed in his professional and family roles, Sporbert can be found on the golf course or hitting the slopes for a skiing adventure.
