James Wardell has been appointed as General Manager at Canyon Ranch Woodside
Wardell brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Canyon Ranch's upscale and immersive wellness resort nestled among the California redwoods, having most recently served as the General Manager at the Calistoga Motor Lodge Resort and Spa. He has also had a remarkable career managing hotel portfolios and leading successful hotel operations for IHG-Sonesta, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, and The Island Hotel in various California communities.
While at Calistoga Motor Lodge, he not only revitalized the Fleetwood Restaurant, but he also spearheaded a construction project adding 39 rooms to the resort where he took strategic measures to reduce food costs and successfully managed finances. While at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California, James played a pivotal role in the transition from a Four Seasons property.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James has competed in bass fishing and has interests in mountain biking, gourmet cooking, and golf. He has also lived abroad in the Netherlands and the Philippines, giving a unique global perspective to his leadership.
