Derek Kokinda has been appointed as Director of Marketing Communications at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is delighted to announce the appointment of Derek Kokinda as the new Director of Marketing Communications. With a wealth of experience in luxury hospitality and travel marketing, Kokinda brings a dynamic skill set and a proven track record of strategic leadership to his new role. Derek will be responsible for overseeing marketing and communications initiatives for the hotel, including brand positioning, PR efforts and promotional strategies.

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, Kokinda served as the Director of Marketing for two iconic luxury mountain resorts - The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Colorado and The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in California. During this time, he was instrumental in developing and executing distinct, strategic annual marketing plans for both luxury mountain resorts.

Kokinda's experience also includes serving as Global Communications Manager on the Luxury PR team at Marriott International corporate headquarters in Maryland. There, he worked with global brand marketing teams for JW Marriott and The Luxury Collection with a focus on W Hotels, providing strategic guidance on communications surrounding brand evolution and repositioning. Before this, Derek led marketing and PR for The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara and The Ritz-Carlton, Denver.
