Matt Skaletsky has been appointed as General Manager at Alila Ventana Big Sur

Alila Ventana Big Sur, the intimate luxury retreat nestled in the heart of California's breathtaking Big Sur coastline, is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Skaletsky as its new General Manager. A seasoned hospitality professional with over two decades of experience, Skaletsky brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the iconic Big Sur resort.

In his new role, Skaletsky will oversee the resort's day-to-day operations, lead and inspire the Alila Ventana team, and develop strategic initiatives to further elevate the guest experience. He is committed to enhancing the guest journey through fostering deeper connections, sparking wonder, and making a positive impact on the environment.

Skaletsky's impressive career spans a variety of roles within the luxury hospitality industry, including significant contributions to renowned brands such as Montage and Ritz-Carlton. His expertise encompasses both culinary arts and food and beverage leadership, cultivated at some of the country's most prestigious resorts.

Most recently, Skaletsky served as the general manager of The Islamorada Collection, a collection of four hotels in the Florida Keys managed by Davidson Hospitality. Prior to that, his career journey included positions in diverse locations such as the Caribbean, Washington, D.C., San Diego, Aspen, and Maui, where he oversaw food and beverage operations for a resort exceeding 1,000 rooms.

A graduate of the esteemed Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina, Skaletsky's passion for hospitality began early in his career. Currently residing in Big Sur with his wife, Grace, and their two dogs, he is deeply connected to the local community and enjoys embracing the area's natural beauty.
