Brock Taylor has been appointed as General Manager at Monterey Beach Hotel
Ascendant Capital Partners, a leading real estate investment and operating company, in partnership with global hotel management firm Highgate and global investment manager Centerbridge Partners, is pleased to announce Brock Taylor to the position of General Manger at Monterey Beach Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel. With more than a decade of experience working in luxury hospitality and hotel management, Brock brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. As General Manager, Brock oversees strategic and day-to-day operations at the oceanfront property, including on-site management, team member engagement, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences amongst the hotel and its three dining venues.
Brock's hospitality career began in 2012 at the renowned Ojai Valley Inn, where he started in Golf Services and quickly advanced to Manager on Duty, gaining invaluable experience in hospitality leadership. He further honed his skills as Assistant Front Office Manager at Shutters on the Beach, a Forbes Four Star, AAA Four Diamond property in Santa Monica, California. In 2018, Brock assumed the role of Director of Front Office at the prestigious property, Mr. C Beverly Hills, where he oversaw the rooms division and managed the launch of its ultra-luxury private residences. During his tenure, Brock achieved a remarkable 96% LQA audit score and consistently attracted high-profile guests to his properties, further solidifying his reputation for excellence in service. In 2021, Brock was promoted to Hotel Manager at Mr. C Beverly Hills, where he played a key role in expanding operations across additional locations including Manhattan and Miami, and was instrumental in the successful 80M+ sale and acquisition of Mr. C Beverly Hills to Braemar Hotels & Resorts, which also transitioned management to Remington Hospitality and then later rebranded to Cameo Beverly Hills in 2023 in anticipation of a 30M renovation.
