Yusuf Yaran has been appointed as Resident Manager at Shangri-La Singapore

Shangri-La Singapore is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Yusuf Yaran as the hotel's Resident Manager. With an illustrious career spanning over 20 years across multiple countries and a deep expertise in hotel operations and food and beverage management, Mr Yaran brings a wealth of international experience, deep operational expertise, and a proven track record of excellence in food and beverage management to the brand's iconic flagship property.

Shangri-La Singapore, the brand's first hotel globally, features 792 guestrooms and suites across three distinctive wings, set amidst 15 acres of lush tropical gardens in the heart of Singapore. As a landmark destination for both leisure and business travellers, the hotel continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality in the region.

Mr Yaran joins the hotel after successfully leading Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa in Kota Kinabalu as Resident Manager. During his tenure, he oversaw the resort's full operations, guided a team of over 700 colleagues, and spearheaded impactful initiatives including the launch of the acclaimed Green Fine Borneo Cuisine concept, which was spotlighted by international media. Under his leadership, the resort also achieved the honour of being the first hotel in the state to receive the Green Hotel Award.

A longstanding member of the Shangri-La family since 2006, Mr Yaran has held a series of progressive leadership roles across the Group, including key postings in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Shanghai, Manila, and Singapore. With a background rooted in food and beverage excellence, he is also recognised for his strategic leadership in marketing, budgeting, P&L management, and guest satisfaction enhancement. His ability to drive innovation while aligning teams across functions has consistently delivered strong business results and exceptional guest experiences.

In his capacity as Resident Manager at Shangri-La Singapore, Mr Yaran will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across the hotel's vibrant dining concepts, banquet operations, and its three distinctive wings - the Tower Wing, Garden Wing, and Valley Wing - as well as the Shangri-La Apartments and Shangri-La Residences. Mr Yaran leads a team of over 1,000 colleagues to uphold and enhance the hotel's distinguished reputation for service, luxury, and innovation.
