Andrew Archibald

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe has appointed Andrew Archibald as managing director, tasking the veteran hotelier with overseeing day-to-day operations and service at the recently renovated boutique property in one of San Diego County's most exclusive communities.

Archibald arrives from Rosewood Bermuda, where as managing director he led operations and developed experiences tailored to the destination. His earlier roles include hotel manager at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York, hotel manager at Meadowood Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, restaurant director at Mandarin Oriental, New York, and assistant manager at The Ritz London.

Originally from Australia's Hunter Valley, Archibald studied business, tourism and hospitality management at Southern Cross University in Sydney. He now lives in Southern California and enjoys exploring Rancho Santa Fe with his wife and their dog, Lilly.

The leadership change comes as the Inn marks its 100th anniversary and unveils its Residences & Villa Collection, the final phase of a multi-million-dollar refresh. Designed by Nina Chiappa with influence from architect Steve Hermann, the five multi-bedroom accommodations feature full kitchens, generous living spaces, and private courtyards with views of Rancho Santa Fe's rolling hills, aimed at extended stays, corporate and wellness retreats, and multigenerational travel. The appointment signals a new chapter for the historic retreat long favored by locals, Hollywood's golden-age figures, and discerning visitors.
