Douglas Glen has been appointed General Manager at Carlton City Hotel Singapore

Carlton City Hotel Singapore is delighted to announce the appointment of Douglas Glen as General Manager, marking his return to the hotel after previously leading the team through the challenging pandemic period.
Many will remember Douglas for his exceptional leadership, calm resilience, and unwavering commitment during that time. Since then, Douglas has continued to strengthen his international portfolio, taking on senior leadership roles with several prestigious hospitality groups. His return signifies an exciting new chapter for the hotel as it continues to uphold its reputation for service excellence and innovation.
Douglas brings with him over three decades of distinguished hospitality experience, having held senior positions at world-renowned properties including The Regent Hotel Group in Hua Hin, The Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, The Steigenberger Riverside Bangkok, The Landmark Bangkok, and The Landmark London. His extensive global background, combined with a deep understanding of Carlton City Hotel Singapore's culture and team dynamics, positions him perfectly to lead the property to greater success.
In his role as General Manager, Douglas will oversee all operational and financial aspects of the 386 keys upscale business hotel, driving strategic growth while maintaining the hallmark standards of hospitality excellence that guests have come to expect.
Born and raised in Scotland, Douglas began his hospitality journey in London after completing his Hotel and Catering studies. His career spans several iconic establishments, from Grosvenor House and The Royal Lancaster to The Hyatt Carlton Tower and The London Hilton on Park Lane. At The Landmark London, Douglas rose to become Hotel Manager before taking on the General Manager role at The Landmark Bangkok, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the hotel's profitability and brand influence.
A St. Julian's Scholar, Douglas earned a scholarship at Cornell University, and in 2008 received an honorary degree from Glion Institute of Higher Education. He also proudly serves as an honorary member of the 16th Chapter of Eta Sigma Delta, awarded by Les Roches Marbella.
Outside of work, Douglas is an avid Manchester United fan who enjoys good food, fine wine, music, theatre, rugby, and golf. A passionate mentor, he continues to nurture and inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals.
