Juan Carlos Calderon has been appointed as Complex General Manager at JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa
JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, two iconic beachfront properties, are now under new leadership with the appointment of Juan Carlos Calderon as the new Complex General Manager. In this role, Mr. Calderon will oversee all operational aspects and continued growth, while ensuring an exceptional guest experience at both properties.
A seasoned hotel management professional, Calderon brings a strong background in sales and marketing, revenue management, operations and owners relations to the role through experience in both regional and on-property roles. Prior to accepting the Complex General Manager position, he spent more than two decades serving and advancing through the Marriott portfolio and held various positions including multiple general manager and executive leadership positions.
Most recently Calderon led as Hotel Manager at the 1,000-room Marriott Marquis Houston where he increased top-line revenue and significant year-over-year improvements - reaching and exceeding goals. Prior to this, Calderon successfully served as General Manager at the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Westlake Solana and then at the Marriott Dallas Downtown. Other positions and experience spanning the last 20+ years with Marriott include Director of Restaurants, Director of Room Operations, Area Director of Operations Mid-West full-service hotels, Area Director of Operations Western Region Select Service Hotels, New hotel openings experience and operational background in room and food and beverage, providing a well-rounded arsenal of experience from which to draw from in his leadership roles.
