Nicholas Kuhns has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Waikoloa Village

Today, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the appointment of Nicholas Kuhns as general manager of the 1647‑room Hilton Waikoloa Village, a premier oceanfront resort on Hawaii Island’s Kohala Coast. In this role, Kuhns will oversee all facets of the resort’s operations, including commercial strategy, guest experience, food and beverage, team member engagement, and the continued evolution of the property’s world‑class amenities.

A seasoned, results‑driven leader with nearly 25 years of experience across luxury resorts, destination properties, convention and urban lifestyle hotels, Kuhns joins Hilton Waikoloa Village from Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, where he served as general manager since 2024. During his tenure, he led a transformative multimillion dollar renovation; strengthened commercial performance; and introduced new food and beverage concepts that elevated the guest experience.

Prior to his most recent role, Kuhns served as resort manager at Montage Kapalua Bay. He previously served as general manager of Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square, where he introduced innovative guest‑service technologies, delivered commercial excellence, and led the hotel to the #1 ranking on TripAdvisor among Seattle properties. Kuhns’ earlier career includes over a decade at Hilton, including leadership roles at Hilton Salt Lake City Center and Hilton Clearwater Beach, among others.

Kuhns holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration from University of Nevada.
