The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has appointed João Miguel Pais as Director of Food and Beverage, bringing extensive international leadership experience to further elevate the resort’s culinary and service offering.
Pais has built a career across Spain, Portugal, and Angola, with deep expertise in large-scale, multi-outlet luxury operations. He has directed expansive culinary portfolios spanning fine dining restaurants, destination bars, beach clubs, banquet operations, and private residences.
Most recently based in Spain, Pais led food and beverage operations for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Madrid, overseeing hundreds of team members while managing multiple restaurant concepts, major event spaces, and 24-hour in-room dining. He is recognized for his strong focus on training, cost control, revenue optimization, and the development of elevated luxury service standards. With experience rooted in Michelin-starred environments and advanced beverage expertise, he brings a refined perspective to experiential hospitality.
At The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, Pais will lead all food and beverage operations, further refine the resort’s culinary identity, and create memorable dining experiences that reflect both global sophistication and the spirit of island life.
