Sumner Myers has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort
The Phoenician Scottsdale, a Luxury Collection Resort, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sumner Myers as Director of Food and Beverage, effective June 15, 2026. A veteran of the luxury hospitality sector with nearly two decades of leadership at Marriott International, Myers arrives to steer strategic food & beverage operations and elevate the guest experience across the premier 200-acre resort and its exclusive luxury hotel, The Canyon Suites.
Myers most recently served on Marriott's luxury operations team for three years, supporting the luxury portfolio across the Western Region, Hawaii, and French Polynesia. During this tenure, she played an integral role in several high-profile property openings and transitions, including The St. Regis Chicago and JW Marriott Dallas Arts District, as well as the conversions of The Resort at Pelican Hill and, most recently, The Resort at Kapalua Bay. The majority of her distinguished career was previously rooted at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, where she held progressive leadership roles across both food & beverage and rooms operations.
Myers’ appointment aligns with a broader focus on maximizing quality and efficiency through analytical, data-driven insights. As a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, she is uniquely suited to helm the resort's dining ecosystem as it integrates cutting-edge luxury dining trends.
A dedicated leader and mother, Myers brings a personal passion for culinary exploration that defines her lifestyle outside of work. When she is not watching her son play soccer, she enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants and bars, always seeking out unique and memorable culinary experiences, rarely visiting the same place twice.
