Gumustekin leads the culinary vision and day-to-day execution across the resort’s restaurants, weddings, meetings, group events, and seasonal dining experiences. His influence will reach each corner of Ocean Edge’s dining program, from fresh seafood and sunset dinners at Ocean Terrace, to shareable plates and comforting favorites at Bayzo’s Pub, as well as private events and special occasions throughout the property.

Specializing in Turkish, Italian, and Japanese cuisine, Gumustekin combines classical technique with modern creativity and the high standards developed throughout his career in resort and fine dining kitchens. A graduate of the Tokyo Sushi Academy, he brings a globally influenced perspective to Cape Cod, along with a hands-on leadership style centered on mentorship, teamwork, and consistency.

Most recently, Gumustekin served as executive chef at The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. His career also includes culinary leadership roles with The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, and Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Throughout those positions, he led teams in both intimate fine dining and high-volume resort environments, developed emerging culinary talent, and supported the opening of numerous restaurants.

His dedication to the culinary arts earned him several silver medals in American Culinary Federation competitions, as well as international recognition at the Euro-Asia Festival of Cookery Art in Russia. Outside the kitchen, he enjoys motorcycle riding and skydiving, pursuits that reflect the same adventurous spirit, focus, and energy he brings to his culinary career.

Gumustekin’s arrival comes as Ocean Edge expands its summer programming beyond dining, with experiences ranging from pickleball clinics and floating sound baths to mansion tours, wellness treatments, and events tied to America’s 250th anniversary.
