James Thomas has been appointed as General Manager at YOTEL Washington DC

YOTEL, the global hospitality brand known for championing reliability, comfort, and smart design, announced the appointment of James Thomas as General Manager of YOTEL Washington DC, effective August 3, 2026.

With more than 26 years of hospitality leadership experience, James joins YOTEL Washington DC with a strong track record of leading lifestyle, boutique, and full-service properties across the Washington, DC and Maryland markets. In his new role, he will oversee day-to-day operations, drive continued performance, and lead the team in delivering the seamless, modern, and memorable stays that define the YOTEL experience.

James joins YOTEL following a successful tenure as General Manager of the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, where he led operations for the 622-room property.  

Previously, James held senior leadership roles at several prominent properties throughout the region, including Motto by Hilton Washington DC Downtown, Washington Marriott Capitol Hill, Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC – Navy Yard, and The Westin Washington National Harbor. Across his career, he has developed a reputation for enhancing operational performance, identifying new revenue opportunities, and building high-performing teams.
