Kurt Berman has been appointed as General Manager at Inn at Perry Cabin
Inn at Perry Cabin, the acclaimed waterfront resort nestled on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, announces the appointment of Kurt Berman as General Manager. A luxury hospitality veteran with nearly three decades of experience spanning four continents, Berman arrives in St. Michaels following a career leading some of the world’s most distinctive resorts, private island escapes, and adventure destinations.
In his new role, Berman will guide Inn at Perry Cabin’s next chapter, overseeing day-to-day operations while advancing the resort’s long-term strategy, guest experience and commitment to exceptional service. His appointment brings a distinctly international perspective to the Chesapeake Bay following leadership positions across Iceland, Thailand, China, the Maldives, Seychelles, Caribbean, United Kingdom and the United States.
Berman joins Inn at Perry Cabin from Eleven Deplar Farm in Iceland, where he led one of the world’s most exclusive adventure lodges. Previously, he served as Vice President of Hospitality at Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah and Chief Executive Officer of Ropeswing Hospitality Group in Bentonville, Arkansas. His earlier career includes leadership roles with Samujana in Thailand, Six Senses in the Maldives, Frégate Island Private in the Seychelles and Rosewood in the Caribbean.
Berman’s leadership combines an entrepreneurial approach with a strong emphasis on talent, culture and service. Throughout his career, he has led associates representing more than 25 nationalities, from an 85-person operation in remote Iceland to a seasonal mountain resort employing over 850 people. His leadership philosophy prioritizes creating environments where talent can thrive, collaboration is encouraged, and exceptional service emerges naturally. Extending beyond operations to strategic planning, capital projects and business development, Berman’s career has been shaped by over 30 years of working closely with ownership groups to bring ambitious hospitality projects to life.
The leadership announcement comes as Inn at Perry Cabin continues to strengthen its standing as one of the most celebrated destinations in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Set on 26 acres along the Miles River, the 78-room resort pairs its storied history with quintessential Eastern Shore experiences spanning sailing, regionally inspired dining, world-class wellness and championship golf at the Pete Dye-designed Links at Perry Cabin.
Originally from South Africa, Berman has relocated to St. Michaels with his wife, Shannon, and son, Cooper Wilde. The family shares a love of travel and exploring new destinations, while Berman’s personal interests include hiking, golf, cooking and the outdoors. His newest pursuit is particularly well suited to life at Perry Cabin, learning to sail.
