Nicky Miscia has been appointed as Executive Chef at Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Collection

Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Collection, the premier alpine resort in Telluride, is pleased to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Nicky Miscia. Bringing a global culinary perspective shaped by Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels across Italy and the United States, Chef Miscia will lead the property’s culinary program with an emphasis on quality ingredients, refined technique, seasonality and warm hospitality, while drawing inspiration from the unique character of Telluride.

Nicky Miscia

Born and raised in Florence, Italy, Chef Miscia developed an early appreciation for food through family meals and the traditions of Italian cuisine. After moving to Los Angeles, he discovered his passion for cooking while working in restaurants before enrolling at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His career later took him to respected kitchens across Italy and the United States, including Torre del Saracino, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Vico Equense, Italy; Valentino in Los Angeles; Ristorante Tosca; and Officina by chef and restaurateur Nicholas Stefanelli in Washington. In 2022, Chef Miscia joined the opening team at Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, where he helped launch Mimo Restaurant & Bar before rising to Chef de Cuisine.

At Madeline, Chef Miscia will oversee Black Iron Kitchen + Bar, known for modern mountain cuisine inspired by seasonal ingredients from local Western Slope farms; Timber Room, the property’s intimate cocktail lounge and a centerpiece of Telluride’s après scene; and Kettle, a coffee shop and community gathering place. He will also lead the property’s event and catering programs. Across each venue, Chef Miscia will draw inspiration from the character and natural bounty of Telluride while fostering a collaborative kitchen culture centered on creativity and growth.

Throughout his career, Chef Miscia has remained passionate about developing emerging chefs and building high-performing teams grounded in discipline and mutual respect. Fluent in Italian, English and Spanish, he values the range of perspectives that a diverse team brings to the kitchen and the guest experience.

Outside the kitchen, Chef Miscia enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and exploring national parks with his wife, Emily. He looks forward to making Telluride home and becoming part of the local community.
