Connor Gillette has been promoted to Director of Food & Beverage at The Alida, Savannah, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
The Alida, Savannah, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, announces the promotion of Connor Gillette to Director of Food & Beverage. In this new role, Gillette will oversee all food and beverage operations at The Alida, including Rhett restaurant, The Lost Square rooftop bar, The Trade Room lobby bar, The Cabana Club poolside service, in-room dining, and catering and banquet operations, utilizing the culinary venues to shape guest experiences.
Gillette's appointment marks the latest step in a seven-year career at the property, where he has advanced from bartender to lead the hotel's food and beverage programming, underscoring The Alida's ongoing commitment to developing talent from within.
Gillette joined The Alida in 2019 as a bartender and steadily rose through the ranks, serving as Bar Supervisor and Bar Manager before being promoted to Senior Bar Manager in 2022. In 2024, he was named Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, and has successfully partnered with hotel leadership to oversee daily operations across all dining outposts. He was instrumental in several major food and beverage capital projects at the hotel, including the repositioning of The Lost Square rooftop bar and the refresh of Rhett Bar, and helped drive a 93% employee engagement survey score within his department. Drawing on his mixology experience, he was also selected to develop beverage concepts and strategies across the Makeready portfolio.
Prior to joining The Alida, Gillette began his hospitality career as a bartender at Andaz Savannah, where he delivered craft cocktail service and supported guest engagement and special events. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing & Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
