Nicholas Untermann has been appointed as General Manager at Viceroy Park Avenue

In his role, Untermann will oversee all operations for Viceroy Park Avenue. Located at the corner of Park Avenue South and 29th Street, the 252-room property will feature spacious guestrooms and suites designed by Meyer Davis Studio, destination dining in partnership with Tao Group Hospitality, more than 15,000 square feet of event space, a rooftop pool and lounge, and extensive wellness offerings including a dedicated spa, fitness center and 2,100-square-foot Wellness Penthouse.

Untermann joins Viceroy Park Avenue from Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, where he most recently served as General Manager. He joined Terranea as Resort Manager in 2023 and was promoted to General Manager in 2025, overseeing the 102-acre oceanfront resort's 582 accommodations and extensive dining, wellness, leisure and group business. Prior to Terranea, Untermann held key positions at several of California’s most distinguished hotels and resorts, including Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Beach Village at The Del, L’Auberge Del Mar, and Ojai Valley Inn. 

Raised in a family of hoteliers, Untermann entered the industry at an early age and has held positions spanning food and beverage, valet, front office, concierge, and rooms. His leadership philosophy centers on remaining close to the guest experience, understanding the realities of day-to-day operations, and empowering teams to deliver with confidence and authenticity. Untermann also serves on the Forbes Travel Guide Standards Advisory Committee, contributing his perspective alongside industry leaders to the continued evolution of the standards that define excellence worldwide.

Viceroy Park Avenue marks a significant milestone in Viceroy’s global growth and return to New York City. Bringing together design, dining, wellness, and social programming, the property will introduce the brand’s evolving approach to modern luxury in NoMad.
