Deacon Cottrell has been promoted to General Manager at Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver
Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver announces Deacon Cottrell's promotion to General Manager. Cottrell joined the 264-room lifestyle hotel as Assistant General Manager in January 2026. As Assistant General Manager, Cottrell strengthened team relationships, implemented operational improvements, and mentored employees for future leadership positions. As he steps into the General Manager role, he plans to build on the team’s recent successes while supporting employee development, enhancing the guest experience, and strengthening the hotel’s position as downtown Denver evolves.
Cottrell brings deep expertise to his new role, with a strong educational foundation and over 14 years of hospitality leadership experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Business Administration. Before joining Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver, he served as Assistant General Manager at Residence Inn Denver, General Manager of Hyatt House Denver Aurora, and General Manager at Courtyard Denver Tech Center. His background also includes quality assurance roles with airlines and hotels, giving him extensive experience in hotel operations, guest services, and team leadership.
When he’s not at the hotel, you might find him at Empower Field at Mile High (just a few minutes away!) cheering on his lifelong favorite football team, the Broncos.
