MCLEAN, Va. – December 16, 2014 – Iconic landmark hotel, the Providence Biltmore, today joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton. Hilton Worldwide today announced the anticipated addition to its growing global brand of distinctive upper upscale and luxury hotels, hand-picked for travelers who seek local discovery and authentic experiences.

Located in the heart of downtown Providence, the historic hotel was built in 1922 by Warren and Wetmore, the same architects behind New York City's Grand Central Station. The stately building opened its doors with widespread acclaim and today is deeply woven into the city's fabric and culture, beloved by generations of guests.

"Historically significant, locally revered and a leader in authentic hospitality, the Providence Biltmore exemplifies the core values behind our Curio collection," said Dianna Vaughan, global head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton. "Without sacrificing the hotel's independent approach that has proved successful for nearly a century, Curio will enhance the Providence Biltmore experience for both the hotel owners and guests through the assurance of the Hilton name, and the benefits of our invaluable HHonors loyalty program."

A member of the Historic Hotels of America program under the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Providence Biltmore is the most architecturally significant hotel in Providence. The iconic hotel offers 294 guestrooms and suites, all with cityscape views provided by the building's striking v-shaped design. Recently renovated in 2014, rooms boast sophisticated design and modern amenities that maintain the timeless elegance of the Biltmore. The final stage of the hotel's $13 million renovation plan will take place in early 2015 with updates to the three-story atrium lobby and function rooms, creating a fresh look while paying great respect to the essence of the historic hotel.

"We look forward to bringing our legacy of gracious hospitality and authentic character into a new era with the Curio Collection," said Todd Finard, CEO of Finard Properties, the hotel's owner and operator. "The Hilton name provides new reach and tools to continue, and even elevate, the Biltmore's long standing tradition of excellence."

Home to the city's largest spa, the Biltmore boasts an eclectic array of cross-cultural therapies including massage, facials, hair styling and nail treatment at The Spa. Dining options include McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks as well as one of the largest Starbucks in America.

Boasting an unrivalled 18,000 square feet of event space, the Biltmore is capable of accommodating any size business or leisure gathering. Each room is distinguished by cascades of natural light, unmatched panoramic city views and world-class food and beverage service. The legendary rooftop Grand Ballroom, the elegant Garden Room that was once the setting of Big Band dancing in Providence and 14 other meeting and banquet rooms, have been recognized among the most-coveted destinations in the city for weddings, social and business gatherings.
