Trust Scores are based on ranking of more than 100 categories that consumers might discuss in online reviews. These range from responsiveness of guest services teams through cleanliness, and include a variety of amenities.
In the inaugural list, three hotels tied for first place, each having earned perfect scores across reviews:
- Back Bay Suites in Boston, MA
- Eagle's View Bed and Breakfast in Seattle
- Shafer-Baillie Mansion Bed And Breakfast in Seattle
Rounding out the top ten were:
- Travis Heights Modern I in Austin
- Upper Terrace Cottage in San Francisco
- Adagio Bed and Breakfast in Denver
- Soco Spaces in Austin
- Taylor House Bed and Breakfast in Boston
- Alamo Inn in San Francisco
- 11th Avenue Inn in Seattle

The list was compiled using online reviews of hotels from hundreds of sources across the web, and is based only on verified reviews. Thousands of reviews were analyzed weekly, stemming back two years with more weight on more recent reviews. Hotels without a review in the last two years were excluded from the list.
