Positron and SONIFI Partner to Modernize Guestroom Network at Buena Vista Suites Orlando

MONTREAL, QC and Sioux Falls, SD — July 14, 2026 — Positron Access Solutions, a global leader in innovative connectivity solutions for the hospitality market, and SONIFI, a leading  hospitality industry managed service provider (MSP) for guest engagement and high-speed Wi-Fi, today announced the successful deployment of Positron's Gigabit Any Media (GAM) solution at Buena Vista Suites Orlando. By transforming the hotel's existing coaxial infrastructure into a standards-compliant Gigabit Ethernet network, the project delivered reliable, high-speed connectivity to every guest suite, avoiding the cost, disruption and lengthy timelines associated with traditional rewiring.

The deployment at Buena Vista Suites demonstrates how hospitality properties can modernize legacy infrastructure to meet today's guest expectations, while maximizing the use of existing infrastructure investment and minimizing operational disruption. As hotels continue upgrading to support streaming, IPTV and increasingly bandwidth-intensive guest experiences, Positron's proprietary GAM platform provides a very cost-effective alternative to replacing existing cabling, enabling properties to accelerate digital transformation without sacrificing occupancy, revenue or guest satisfaction.

Like many hotels built with steel and concrete construction, Buena Vista Suites Orlando struggled to provide consistent Wi-Fi coverage throughout its all-suite property. Concrete walls between guestrooms limited wireless signal propagation, resulting in inconsistent connectivity and increasing guest issues. Traditional rewiring would have required extensive drilling, structural modifications, guestrooms taken out of inventory and months of construction, which would have been an impractical and costly undertaking for a high-occupancy hotel.

To avoid this potential disruption, the property chose to deploy Positron's GAM solution, which transforms existing coaxial cabling into a standards-compliant Gigabit Ethernet network capable of supporting high-speed guest internet access, in-room Wi-Fi and future IP-based technologies. This allowed the property to accomplish the upgrade without replacing its existing cabling infrastructure.

As the project's technology integration partner, SONIFI provided end-to-end network design and deployment support, including equipment procurement, GAM configuration and installation support to ensure optimal performance while minimizing installation costs and operational impact.

The full-property deployment was completed in approximately one week with virtually no disruption to hotel operations. Unlike traditional rewiring projects that often require guestrooms to be removed from service for days, Positron's solution enabled installation in  20 minutes per room, allowing Buena Vista Suites to remain fully operational throughout the upgrade while protecting occupancy and revenue.

At the same time, the hotel realized significant cost savings compared to a traditional rewiring project while avoiding construction delays and maintaining normal operations throughout the installation.
