Three European hotel transactions this week: De Silva City acquires four Accor-branded hotels in Poland (752 rooms), Atream buys Sun Palace Albir in Spain, and Kronen Collection picks up Keswick Country House Hotel in England.
De Silva City acquires four Accor-branded hotels in Poland from Essendi
Polish owner-operator De Silva City has acquired a portfolio of four Accor-branded hotels (752 rooms) in Poland from French owner-operator Essendi. The portfolio includes the five-star, 368-room Sofitel Warsaw Victoria and three hotels in Szczecin, namely the four-star, 117-room Novotel Szczecin Centrum, the three-star, 161-room Ibis Styles Szczecin Stare Miasto and the two-star, 106-room Ibis Szczecin Centrum. The Sofitel is situated in a prime location in the centre of Warsaw overlooking Saxon Garden and Piłsudski Square, while the other properties are centrally located in Szczecin, a port city of some 390,000 people, situated in the north-west of Poland close to the German border and just 150 kms from Berlin. This acquisition brings De Silva’s portfolio to 24 hotels across Poland.
Atream acquires Sun Palace Albir in Alicante, Spain
French asset-management firm Atream, through its Atream Hotels REIT, has acquired the four-star, 216-room Sun Palace Albir in L'Albir, Spain. The property is situated on the coast between Valencia and Alicante overlooking the Mediterranean. The hotel includes a restaurant, two bars and a wellness area with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Atream plans to invest €2.7 million (€12,500 per room) into renovation of the guest rooms and public areas. French operator Pierre & Vacances will take over operations under a 15-year operating lease.
The Kronen Collection acquires Keswick Country House Hotel in England
British owner-operator The Kronen Collection has acquired the three-star, 73-room Keswick Country House Hotel in the Lake District in north-west England. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar, three meeting rooms and a separate 38-room staff accommodation building. Kronen Collection plans to extensively refurbish the property and reposition it as a four-star hotel. This acquisition brings the group’s portfolio to five hotels in regional UK.
