Lisa Wald has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa
BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Lisa Wald director of human resources for The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa. The Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property is located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Michael Lucero, general manager, made the announcement.
Lisa Wald's new position with The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa represents her return to the property. She began with the resort as lifeguard and activities assistant for a summer, which evolved into a 15-year employment with The Abbey and in turn launched her career in hospitality. During that time, she served as health club manager and recreation director, and later moved into the Human Resources Department, serving as human resources assistant.
Ms. Wald expanded her human resources knowledge and skills at The Grand Geneva Resort, specializing in recruiting and benefits. Most recently, she held a senior human resources business partner position within the health care industry for ProHealth Care of Wisconsin, working in employee relations and as strategic support to several service lines.
Lisa Wald attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She resides in Lake Geneva with her family, including three dogs, one of which is a rescue from Hurricane Harvey.
