Matthew Gabos has been appointed as Corporate Director of Food & Beverage at Salamander Collection

A seasoned hospitality executive with more than 25 years of luxury hotel and resort experience, Gabos brings deep expertise across complex food and beverage platforms, multi-outlet environments, and large-scale resort operations. He joins Salamander Collection from The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, where he most recently served as Director of Food & Beverage. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for building strong service cultures, driving operational excellence, and leading teams to Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond environments.

In his new role, Gabos will partner closely with Salamander Collection's home office leadership team and property Managing Directors, General Managers, and Food & Beverage leaders to help shape strategy, elevate culinary and service standards, and drive operational excellence across the company's growing portfolio.

At The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Gabos oversaw a $32 million food and beverage operation spanning eight outlets, banquets, and in-room dining while leading a team of 160 associates. He worked closely with executive leadership to enhance guest satisfaction, strengthen financial performance, and develop future hospitality leaders.

Prior to Kiawah Island, Gabos spent six years with Auberge Collection, where he held several senior leadership roles, including Director of Operations. His experience included oversight of both rooms and food and beverage operations, supporting resort openings, leading through the COVID-19 pandemic, and serving in executive leadership roles across luxury properties in Napa Valley, Hawaii, Virginia, and California.

Earlier in his career, Gabos held leadership positions with several renowned luxury destinations, including Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, St. Regis Monarch Beach, The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Grand Del Mar Resort & Spa, and ClubCorp.
