Mirko Cattini has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Rome

Mandarin Oriental has appointed Mirko Cattini as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Rome, ahead of the hotel’s scheduled opening in 2027. The appointment supports the Group’s continued strategic expansion in Italy and its long-term commitment to Europe’s luxury hospitality market.

Cattini joined Mandarin Oriental on 15 June and will report to Flavia Caponi, Regional Vice President, Operations.

He brings more than 25 years of international luxury hospitality leadership experience across Europe and Asia. Throughout his career, Cattini has held senior positions with Shangri-La Group, Dorchester Collection, Corinthia Hotels, Taj Hotels and Savoy Group, now Maybourne, working in destinations including Rome, London, Singapore, Bangkok, Cebu and Mumbai.

Most recently, Cattini served as General Manager of Hotel Eden Rome, where he was recognised for delivering highly personalised guest experiences, strong commercial performance and a distinctive service culture. His career also includes extensive experience in food and beverage leadership across luxury hotels and resorts.

Originally from Lake Como, Cattini holds certifications from the Hotel and Catering Institutional Management Association in London and Cornell University’s General Managers Program.

With his global luxury hospitality background and deep understanding of the Roman market, Cattini will lead the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Rome and position the property as one of the city’s foremost luxury destinations.
