Morgan Russell has been appointed as Manager of Guest Experiences at Main Street Hospitality Group

Morgan Russell has joined the Main Street Hospitality team as the manager of guest experiences across four Main Street Hospitality Group properties. Originally from Boston and then growing up in the Berkshires, Russell brings 10 years of luxury hospitality concierge experience to this new position. Prior to joining Main Street Hospitality, he specialized in building guest engagement programs for various high-end boutique hotels in Colorado including the Arrabelle at Vail Square, The Sebastian Hotel, and The Christiana.

Kevin Filer has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Design & Construction at Davidson Hospitality Group

As senior vice president, design & construction, Filer oversees capital projects, renovations and brand conversions. He most recently served as vice president of design & construction with Sage Hospitality, spearheading development projects for independent hotels as well as restaurant refreshes. Starting his career with Marriott where he held several design and construction roles, Filer then went on to launch Sodexo's design, construction and technical service department, completing over a billion dollars in construction projects, and later to Wyndham Worldwide where he led the brand's foray into Brazil ahead of the Summer 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Chad Merced has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto

Having recently celebrated a decade with the company, Merced is a Four Seasons veteran who has held various positions within the rooms division. All of this experience led to his promotion as Director of Guest Services at Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and then on to Assistant Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Denver. Merced has also spent time at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts corporate office as operations lead worldwide, working with the guest recognition team, as well as assisting with task force opportunities in New York and Chicago.

Hakan Akgun has joined Rosewood Hotel Group as VP Engineering, Sustainability and Security

Mr. Hakan Akgun joins Rosewood Hotel Group from Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he has over 25 years' experience as an engineer and hospitality executive focused on technical design services, operations and sustainability. In his previous roles as head of the engineering and sustainability function for the Americas region for Hyatt Hotels Cooperation, and vice president of engineering design and operations for Hyatt International, Mr. Akgun has overseen the design and construction of building systems, engineering operations, maintenance and facility management, and sustainability programs for full-service hotels.

Alister Leu has been appointed as Director of Housekeeping at InterContinental Hong Kong

Alister Leu recently joined InterContinental Hong Kong as Director of Housekeeping. Prior joining InterContinental Hong Kong, she spent the past six years as Director of Housekeeping at The Fairmont & Swissotel The Stamford, Singapore, a 5 star hotel complex with 2030 rooms. Prior to her assignment in Singapore, she spent three years as Executive Housekeeper at the Grand Hyatt Macau. Alister brings a wealth of experience to her role having worked in numerous 5-star luxury properties in her native Penang, Malaysia including Traders Hotel by Shangri-La, Evergreen Laurel Hotel and Eastern & Oriental, a landmark boutique hotel. In her role as Director of Housekeeping at InterContinental Hong Kong, Alister, who oversees a team of 180, is responsible for maintaining the hotel's Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Levels of service and cleanliness not only for the 503 guest rooms, but also for all public areas, including restaurants and event space of the hotel, along with laundry operations.

Gokce Karakus has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Swissôtel Al Ghurair

Prior to joining Swissôtel Al Ghurair, Karakus worked with Persona Human Resources as a general manager and partner. Karakus built the entire operational flow of integrating financial and operational software for luxury and upper-class brands including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Worldwide and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.Karakus holds a Masters in Business Administration from Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. Gokce started his journey with Swissôtel brand in 2008 in Swissôtel Buyuk Efes Izmir, Turkey as a receptionist. With his tremendous effort and dedication, he climbed the ladder and worked in various positions as front office supervisor, assistant front office manager and front office manager. Gokce subsequently moved and pioneered the pre-opening operations of Fairmont Quasar Istanbul in 2016 as director of rooms and executive committee member.
