Greg Durrer has been appointed as General Manager at W Aspen

Greg Durrer joined Marriott International in 1997, with the Residence Inn Brand in Portland, Oregon. Since that time, Greg has held numerous operational leadership positions at several Marriott Luxury, full-service, and select-service hotels: the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, Orlando World Center Marriott, and Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay are a few of the highlights. When he has time for leisure, Greg loves to ski and snowboard, travel the world, explore and adventure in new destinations that are off the beaten path, and cook on his Traeger. With his long standing career in luxury and his love of exploration and adventure, the move to W Aspen was a perfectly orchestrated symbiotic next step in his decorated career. Greg and his wife, Julie, their three children, and Ollie (a 4 lb. Morkie and youngest member of the family) are ecstatic to be a new addition to the vibrant Aspen community and culture. 

Heather Steenge-Hart has been promoted to Area General Manager at St. Regis Aspen Resort

Heather Steenge-Hart has been promoted by Marriott International to Area General Manager, Luxury Mountain Resorts - Western region. Following significant success in her role as General Manager at The St. Regis Aspen Resort, Heather will now manage The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, The St. Regis Deer Valley, the soon-to-open W Aspen, in addition to her present hotel.

Groundbreaking for W Aspen - Slated to open for the 2018-19 ski season

Northridge Capital, LLC, owner of the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, in partnership with local developer Sarpa Development, is pleased to announce that it closed last month on construction financing for its redevelopment of the property, prominently located at the base of Aspen Mountain in the heart of town, obtained construction permits from the City of Aspen, and broke ground on the project on Friday, May 26. Northridge selected Marriott International's W Hotels as operator for the new hotel and residences last year. An entity owned by one or more funds managed, directly or indirectly, by Fortress Investment Group LLC (NYSE: FIG) is providing construction financing, and Haselden Construction of Denver is the general contractor.

Dana Cooper has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Jerome, an Auberge Resort

Formerly, Cooper worked with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for 13 years, most recently serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing for The Ritz Carlton, Westchester, a four-diamond hotel in New York. Prior to this, Cooper was the Director of Sales for The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta and The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. She also held positions as the Director of Group Sales for The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas and as Senior Sales Manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Cooper’s earlier experience includes Sales Manager positions with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay.

Heather Steenge-Hart has been appointed as General Manager at The St. Regis Aspen Resort

Steenge-Hart brings a wealth of hospitality experience to the resort. Prior to her appointment, she served as complex general manager of W Hotels of Chicago for the past three years. Heather began her career in 1991 as at the Westin Harbour Castle. From there she was promoted to various positions at numerous Starwood properties: The Westin Bayshore, The Westin St. Francis and The Westin Los Angeles Airport. In 2006 Heather moved to Chicago as the general manager for the W Chicago Lakeshore and was promoted to her most current assignment in 2009 overseeing the W Chicago Lakeshore and W Chicago City Center.

Tony DiLucia has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Jerome

Auberge Resorts announced today that Tony DiLucia will return to Aspen’s famed Hotel Jerome as General Manager when the company assumes management of the hotel in November just in time for ski season. DiLucia was long considered the heart and soul of Hotel Jerome during his previous 15-year tenure as General Manager, which ended in 2007 when Rock Resorts took over management. Since then, the former Leading Hotels of the World Hotelier of the Year for North America served as a partner in Aspen Associates Realty Group, engaged in real estate investment and development projects throughout Colorado.An avid supporter of many Aspen area non-profits, DiLucia is a board member of the Aspen Community Foundation. He is the past president of the board of trustees of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and previously served on the Aspen Historical Society board. Prior to moving to Aspen for his first position at the Hotel Jerome, DiLucia graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, where he currently serves as a Fellow.

Three key measures of a hotel's performance - occupancy, average daily rate, and revenue per available room - were all down sharply in the two combined resorts through the first eight months of 2009 compared to 2008, according to Smith Travel Research of Nashville, Tenn.

Kerrington L. Hing has been appointed as General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Club, Aspen Highlands

Joining The Club from The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Hing has served in several different roles over the past six years, including hotel manager where he was responsible for resort operations, food and beverage, culinary, spa, and meetings and specials events. He also held roles as an executive assistant manager and area director of finance. Prior to his service at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Hing worked as the director of finance at the Camelback Inn, A JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz.; the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla.; and the Calgary Marriott in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Hing earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast enjoying skiing, hiking, white water rafting, biking and camping. Hing, his wife Nancy and their five children will be relocating to Aspen in the near future.

Jeff David has been named General Manager at Viceroy Snowmass

Jeff David joins Viceroy Snowmass with a background in luxury hotels and more than 15 years of domestic and international experience. Most recently, he worked at Kor on the Viceroy Anguilla, a 35-acre $500 million resort in the British West Indies, served as interim general manager of Viceroy Palm Springs and re-launched The Tides South Beach, Miami. The opening of Viceroy Snowmass marks Kor Hotel Management’s first mountain resort, and the management group claims it will bring the brand’s “signature fusion of glamorous style, provocative design and innovative culinary experiences to Snowmass.” This is also the first mountain resort property from developer Related Companies, which brings residential expertise from properties such as The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, New York.
