Carol Waller has been appointed as General Manager at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa

Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa in Indonesia is delighted to announce Carol Waller as the new General Manager. Carol will also take on additional responsibili​ties as the Area General Manager for Indonesia & Thailand Holiday Inn Resorts.Carol, who is originally from Argentina, has spent 16 years with InterContine​ntal Hotel Group (IHG) across Asia and Europe in a variety of roles at an executive level, providing extensive experience in all operational departments. Carol has achieved phenomenal results in the past couple of years in her role as General Manager Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali and Area General Manager Holiday Inn Express Bali and a member of the Ten Club (a selective Club that congregates the leaders of hotels that have reached all the 10 IHG winning metrics for a given year) twice, in 2014 and in 2016.

Diego Martinelli has been appointed as Executive Chef at Soori Bali

During his 22-year career, Martinelli worked in Four Seasons hotels in his native Italy, in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Qatar and Egypt, before joining Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts Bali’s Il Ristorante as its head chef 10 years ago. He cooked at the Lighthouse at Singapore’s Fullerton Hotel as it won a host of awards, before stints as brand chef ambassador at Umberto Cesari Winery in Bologna Italy and executive group chef at Singapore’s iO Italia Restaurant and Bistro. Martinelli returns to Bali after more than two years as executive chef at Le Cirque Restaurant in New Delhi’s Leela Palace Hotel, where he managed 20 chefs and 16 wait staff. Chef Martinelli oversees the resort’s semi-covered, open air restaurant Cotta, signature restaurant Ombak, the new Reading Room and 24-hour in-villa dining. He also caters special events such as weddings. In one of his first moves at Soori, Martinelli has created a special menu as a complement to an even that features Balinese dancers moving to the strains of live gamelan players. The accompanying meal serves up farmyard chicken, Muscovy duck, quail, freshly caught fish and organic vegetables, slow cooked with authentic Balinese spices on a traditional pit using black volcanic sand from Soori Bali’s beach.

Sheilla Andrade Cruz has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa

Sheilla joins the hotel with over 20 years of hospitality experience and is expected to expand the current client base and segment portfolio for Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa. Sheilla started her career as Marketing Coordinator at InterContine​ntal Rio for 3 years and joined Pestana Hotels & Resorts in Rio de Janeiro, Portuguese Group, as Director of Sales & Marketing for 2 years. Prior to starting at Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa, she worked as the Director of Sales & Marketing for InterContine​ntal São Paulo in Brazil. She received a degree in Communicatio​ns and Management in The American Internationa​l University in London and post graduated from IAG – PUC – Rio de Janeiro Catholic University in Brazil.

Franklyn D’Costa has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali has warmly welcomed Mr. Franklyn D’Costa to the appointed role of Director of Food & Beverage. He has arrived on the island direct from chilly England where he was formerly the Operations Manager for De Vere Cotswold Water Park, a luxury countryside hotel and event venue. Franklyn completed two hospitality diplomas before going on to participate in a year-long program as a Management Trainee at The Orchid Hotel Mumbai, India. From there he relocated to Scotland where he studied at a leading Edinburgh university for his B.A in Hospitality Management.

Didit Indra Purnawarman has been appointed as General Manager at Bali Dynasty Resort

Bali Dynasty Resort announced the appointment of Didit Indra Purnawarman as general manager effective 1 April. Drawing from more than 27 years of experience in the hotel industry, Didit will be responsible for running the family resort and the overall, day-to-day operations. Didit’s career at the Bali Dynasty Resort began in 2001 when he was appointed executive assistant manager before being promoted as the resort manager in 2014. Prior to joining the Bali Dynasty Resort, he worked for various hotel brands such as the Bali Hyatt, Sahid Hotel Jakarta, Intan Resorts, Holiday Inn Resort Lombok, and several small properties in Indonesia. Bali Dynasty Resort is a member of Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts and is one of South Kuta’s longest established family resorts.

Saimah Sabirin has been named General Manager at Sudamala Suites & Villas, Sanur

Luxury boutique hospitality brand Sudamala Resorts has appointed Ms Saimah Sabirin as General Manager of Sudamala Suites & Villas, Sanur, Bali. She will also take up the role of cluster Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) for the brand’s two properties in Sanur, Bali and Senggigi, Lombok. Ms Sabirin’s resume includes a long list of previous positions at some of the most impressive resorts in the region. Beginning her rise to the top as a Sales and Marketing staffer at the Melati Dua Cottages in Senggigi, Saimah went on to work at Lombok’s Holiday Inn Resort, before moving to the Intercontinental Resort, Bali as a Senior Business Development Manager. Following that, she spent several years at Bali’s luxurious, cliff-hanging Bulgari Hotel, as well as Accor Hotels, Tjendana Resorts and Sempiak Villas, before joining Sudamala in July this year.
