Christian Sack has been named General Manager at Raffles Beijing

Peter French, President, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of Christian Sack as General Manager, Raffles Beijing. Christian moves within the Raffles family to Beijing from Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Siem Reap where he has been General Manager since 2011. Originally from Vienna, Christian has over 22 years of international experience working in five star hotels and resorts. Christian joined Raffles following five years with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts where he held positions progressing from Executive Assistant Manager for Food & Beverage at Shangri-La Makati to Resident Manager at Shangri-La Sydney and most recently, Resident Manager at Shangri-La Tokyo. Prior to his time with Shangri-La, he held prominent positions with Banyan Tree and Angsana in the Maldives and Grosvenor House in London. Christian’s career began with a degree in Hotel Management from Hotel Management School in Vienna, Austria and a first position with Vital Hotel Royal, Seefeld, Austria.

Charles Cheng has been appointed as Director, Global Sales, Beijing at Pan Pacific Hotels Group

In conjunction with the opening of its Beijing Global Sales Office, the Group has also appointed Charles Cheng as Director, Global Sales, Beijing to head the new Office. Charles will be responsible for managing the Group’s key clients in Northern China and expanding the market through the generation of sales leads and bookings to drive revenue for the Group’s properties within and outside of China. A seasoned industry professional with close to 20 years of sales experience in China at both the hotel and regional level, Charles was most recently Director, Global Sales, Northern China at Langham Hospitality Group. He has also served in management positions with international hotel chains including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Nick Porter has been appointed as General Manager at Regent Beijing

Porter previously served as general manager at various Starwood Hotels & Resorts properties, including the Westin Beijing Chaoyang, St. Regis Shanghai and Sheraton Xiamen Hotel. As part of his role at these properties, Porter assumed responsibility in operational efficiencies and guest satisfaction, as well as mentoring and developing internal talent within the company. He has developed his esteemed career in hotel management at hotels and resorts in varying international destinations, including Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; Bali, Indonesia; and Shanghai and Beijing, China. Originally from the United Kingdom, Porter is fluent in Chinese and holds a degree in Chinese and East Asian Studies from University of Copenhagen. Immersed in the local culture, Porter has resided in Asia for the past 20 years.

Pearl Peng has been appointed as General Manager at Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall

Marriott International has appointed Pearl Peng general manager of the Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall. With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, of which 15 has been with Marriott International, Peng first joined Marriott Global Sales Office Beijing in 1999. She was last promoted to general manager of the Imperial Mansion Beijing Marriott Executive Apartments in 2011 but did her first stint at the Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall as director of sales and marketing before that.

Adrian Rudin has been appointed as General Manager at NUO Hotel Beijing

Adrian Rudin joined NUO Hotel Beijing as general manager in August 2013. A Swiss national with more than 30 years of global luxury hospitality experience, Rudin previously held general management and senior leadership positions at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Peninsula Hotel Group. He will lead the NUO Hotels team in establishing and maintaining international standards, while adapting them to the principles of NUO etiquette. One aspect of the etiquette will be the development of the 'Chinese Entourage' concept which originated from the Ming Dynasty.
