For its third opening in France, Hotel Indigo, part of the IHG Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, has chosen the bohemian city of Bordeaux as its new "pied-à-terre". This design-led boutique hotel is located in the central Chartrons district, a picturesque neighbourhood just a short stroll from the Garonne River. Hotel Indigo is one of the only hotel brands that delivers a beautiful perspective of the neighbourhood, bringing its sights, sounds, and flavours into our spaces. At Hotel Indigo Bordeaux - Centre Chartrons - with its colourful new address, the nearby Bassin d'Arcachon bay on the Atlantic coast with its beachside hues, the famous Dune du Pilat and its authentic oyster huts all serving as design traits throughout the hotel. Much more than just a destination, the hotel's 100 rooms are unique, as is the cuisine of the rooftop restaurant, Tchanqué.
Situated in the renowned bohemian district of Le Quartier des Chartrons, the hotel will feature 100 guest rooms, four meeting rooms and a rooftop restaurant that provides unforgettable panoramic views over the Garonne River. It's located just a few steps from the tramway, with direct access to the main train station and the Cité du Vin wine and trade museum.
Marty Hotel Bordeaux, Tapestry Collection by Hilton opens to guests today in the Mériadeck business district. The new hotel building in Bordeaux will be the third MEININGER hotel to open in France within just one and a half years (Lyon and Paris opened at the end of 2019). Planned to open in May 2021, it is located near the main train station, Saint Jean, and offers guests 173 rooms with 526 beds. The building was designed by French architect Patrick Arotcharen, who integrated parts of the old façade of a former building into the new design. A further location is planned for France in 2021 too, with the doors of the MEININGER Hotel in Marseille set to open for the first time at the end of the year.
Canopy by Hilton Bordeaux Chartrons is expected to open in early 2021. The new-build property will be constructed in the Chartrons neighbourhood, overlooking the Garonne River. Chartrons is famous for its waterside bars and dining, antique shops and vintage boutiques.

Thomas Bourdois, 40, has just been appointed General Manager of the InterContinental Bordeaux - Le Grand Hôtel - the reference of luxury hotels in the Gironde capital. Thomas Bourdois had previously held the InterContinental Marseille - Hôtel-Dieu for five years in Marseille, as Director of Operations for the most magnificent 5-star hotel in Marseille. In this capacity, he had, among other things, prepared the opening (in April 2013) of this 194-room establishment, leading the recruitment of its 200-strong team and contributing to its positioning on the market.
