Signo Hospitality continues its growth in northern Germany with the topping-out ceremony of its new Hampton by Hilton hotel in Bremen Nord. The property aims to blend international standards with local identity and is designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
In the first quarter of 2020, the Hamburg-based hotel group NOVUM Hospitality has opened not one but two hotels of their young lifestyle brand the niu in Germany: the niu Air in Frankfurt and the niu Crusoe in Bremen. While the niu Air - the largest hotel of the niu brand to date - boasts 344 rooms and is located in close proximity to Frankfurt's former airport near Rebstockpark, the niu Crusoe offers 153 guestrooms and is situated right next to Bremen airport.
Berlin-born Alexander Skibbe will assume overall charge at the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen with effect from 1 July 2019. Mr. Skibbe is currently Director of Operations at the Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg and has already been responsible for the Steigenberger Hotels in Deidesheim and Munich in his capacity as an interim manager within Steigenberger Hotels AG.
Mark Wachal will take over the reins at the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen with effect from 1 September. He will succeed Carlton Courtney, who will now head up the InterCityHotel Gelsenkirchen.
Swissôtel Bremen appoints Sven-Erik Richter as general manager. Richter joined the company in 2000 at the Raffles Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Hamburg – today part of the Fairmont hotel collection – as duty manager. In 2008, Richter moved to the United States and became director of operations at Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle, until 2011. His most recent position was hotel manager, Fairmont Mayakoba.
Swissôtel Bremen has appointed Daniela Maeckle as director of sales and marketing. Maeckle is responsible for the hotel’s overall sales strategy as well as coordinating the sales, groups and events, and revenue teams on property. Maeckle began her career in the hotel industry at Hotel Alpenrose in Zermatt, working her way up to her previous position as director of sales MICE at Hilton Spain & Portugal hotels.
Around two and a half months after receiving its first guests, the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen, a four-star Superior Establishment, officially marked its opening at a special ceremony staged yesterday evening. More than 250 invited guests, including Peter Siemering, Managing Director of the Bremen Tourist Office, and Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, assembled in the GOP Variety Theatre adjoining the hotel to witness the handing over of the key. The hotel, which brings modern and elegant seafaring and nautical flair together under its roof in a unique way, met with instant success. Over 5,000 guests including such prominent visitors as ex-German international footballers Thorsten Frings, Oliver Kahn, Lothar Matthäus and Michael Ballack have already been welcomed since the beginning of August, and demand continues to grow. The Steigenberger Hotel Bremen offers 137 rooms, including 4 suites. The Steigenberger Hotel Group is opening a new four-star Superior hotel in Bremen offering 139 rooms and suites and located within the direct vicinity of the Weser Tower Skyscraper. The ground breaking ceremony for the new hotel took place in February. The plan is for it to be open for business in mid-2013.
