Following the resignation of Hubert Joly on 13 September 2012, the Rezidor Hotel Group today announced that its Board has appointed Trudy Rautio as Chairman of the Board for the period until the end of the 2013 Annual General Meeting.
The Board of Directors of the Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Wolfgang M. Neumann as new President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rezidor; effective January 1, 2013. He succeeds Kurt Ritter who is retiring at the end of the year.

Rocco Forte Hotels has today announced the appointment of Blanche van Berckel as General Manager of the Hotel Amigo, Brussels. Ms van Berckel, who will start in September, takes over from Jacques Vitu who recently left the company. With over 20 years’ hospitality experience, Ms van Berckel brings significant management skills to the role, combined with considerable knowledge of the luxury hotels market from both an operational and a consultancy perspective. Prior to this, Ms van Berckel was responsible for opening and managing Blakes Amsterdam, having spent ten years building her career at IHG and Golden Tulip Hotels in a variety of locations in Europe and North America.

After three consecutive years of growth in overnight demand in Brussels across all market levels, 2009 witnessed a 1.4% decrease, with the total number of overnights at just below 5.2 million, according to the Tourism Observatory of Brussels. Whilst corporate demand decreased by about 14% and the meeting and conference segment by 5%, leisure demand increased by 7%, thus shifting the traditional balance of this business-driven market to a more even balance between business and leisure.
