Jose Pascual Fernandez Estevan has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort

Jose Pascual Fernández Estevan has been named Director of Food & Beverage for the new Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort, effective immediately. In his new position, he is responsible for overseeing the restaurants and bars, 24-hour in-room dining, and catering services of the "Beyond All-Inclusive, Beyond All Compare" resort which opened in December 2016.

Octavio Muñoz has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Esperanza, An Auberge Resort

Esperanza, An Auberge Resort, the award-winning Relais & Châteaux property overlooking the Sea of Cortez in Cabo San Lucas, today announced the appointment of Guillermo Gomez as Executive Chef and Octavio Muñoz as Director of Food and Beverage as part of the resort’s continued efforts to create dynamic dining experiences for guests. Gomez will oversee the culinary direction of the resort’s six restaurants, including the acclaimed Cocina del Mar and new Pesca Ceviche Bar, and Muñoz will be responsible for managing the food and beverage operations throughout the resort.

Guillermo Gomez has been appointed as Executive Chef at Esperanza, An Auberge Resort

Esperanza, An Auberge Resort, the award-winning Relais & Châteaux property overlooking the Sea of Cortez in Cabo San Lucas, today announced the appointment of Guillermo Gomez as Executive Chef and Octavio Muñoz as Director of Food and Beverage as part of the resort’s continued efforts to create dynamic dining experiences for guests. Gomez will oversee the culinary direction of the resort’s six restaurants, including the acclaimed Cocina del Mar and new Pesca Ceviche Bar, and Muñoz will be responsible for managing the food and beverage operations throughout the resort. With more than 11 years in the industry, Gomez will oversee seasonal menus at Esperanza that highlight Baja’s local produce and purveyors. A native of Argentina and global traveler, Gomez’s cuisine will be reflective of his international experience in destinations including Argentina, Spain, France, Italy, Uruguay, Mexico and the U.S. where he held senior positions at notable hotels, resorts and restaurants and received his culinary training. Prior to joining the team at Esperanza, Gomez was the Executive Chef at Verdura Golf & Spa Resort in Sciacca. Gomez has served as a special “Guest Chef” for international events, such as “Mexican Gastronomic Week” at the Hotel Ritz in Madrid, Spain and the 2008 and 2009 Food & Wine Festival in St. Michaels, Md. Gomez received his culinary education at Azafrán Gastronomy School in Córdoba, Agentina and Aiala: Karlos Arguiño’s Cooking School in Basque Country, Spain.

Lauren Carr has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort

Carr joins Rosewood Hotels & Resorts following five years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, Carr served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Fairmont Newport Beach. Previously, she spent three years as Fairmont Washington, D.C. as Director of Group Sales, where she led the team to become Fairmont’s Sales Team of the Year for 2008. Carr began her hospitality career with Marriott International in 2002, where she held Sales Manager positions in New York City for several years before moving to the Renaissance Mayflower Washington D.C. as Senior Account Executive in 2006. During her tenure with Marriott, Carr was the recipient of Marriott International’s 2003 Sales Manager of the Year Award. Carr holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Administration from Boston University. She currently resides in Newport Beach, California.

Marc Rodriguez has been named General Manager at Esperanza, An Auberge Resort

Auberge Resorts announced today that Marc Rodriguez has been named General Manager of Esperanza, An Auberge Resort. Rodriguez, a dual citizen of Mexico and Ireland with more than two decades of industry experience across the globe, will oversee all operations for the acclaimed Relais & Châteaux property dramatically set along the coast overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Prior to his time at Esperanza, Rodriguez most recently served as General Manager at Casa de Sierra Nevada and Maroma Resort & Spa, two Orient-Express Hotels in Mexico. Previous management positions include work at the Ritz Hotel Madrid (an Orient-Express Hotel) and at Four Seasons Hotels in Dublin, Mexico and London. Rodriguez is a graduate of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in Galway, Ireland where he earned his degree in Hotel and Catering Management.
