Rajan Karuppannan has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain

Rajan comes from Tamil Nadu in India. With 10 years experience working and living in China, he has impressive fluency with the local language and dialect. He says that although having worked for a longer period close to Beijing, he attributes his pronounced Shanghainese dialect to having to be clearly and quickly understood by taxi drivers. Rajan says that the locations, values and culture of Six Senses are factors that attracted him to join the team in Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain. Having read about how Six Senses achieves its success and market position through being ‘Out of the Ordinary’, he headed straight to Sichuan for an introduction. In addition to his regular duties, he also devotes a lot time to the planning board developing the resort’s ballroom, which is due to open by June 2016. He feels it would be the perfect location for weddings, product launches and meetings and wants the facility to be ideal for guests and planners. His professional experience has taken him from being a management trainee at Le Royal Meridian in Chennai, India to a restaurant manager at Ritz Carlton in Sanya, China; St Regis pre-opening in Sanya and MGM pre-opening in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Recently he has held the positions of assistant food and beverage manager and food and beverage manager with Hilton International in Shijiazhuang, China. With his expertise and fresh insights, Rajan ensures that Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain will continuously provide guests with an unforgettable dining experience and excellent service. Rajan’s wife Laarni and their daughter Carlynkaye will soon be joining him from Beijing. They are truly looking forward to the clear sky and the surroundings of Qing Cheng Mountain where they feel will be a perfect place to raise a family.
