Liz Kraft has been appointed as General Manager at Aloft Chicago Mag Mile

Kraft was most recently the general manager of the Aloft Chicago O'Hare. She was at the hotel for seven years, previously as the director of sales. In her sales role, Kraft was responsible for an award-winning team, aptly named Sales Team of the Year by its ownership group. Under her leadership, the hotel was also honored with Hotel of the Year distinction. Kraft's proven and impressive track record propelled her into the general manager post, which she held for nearly two years. She earned the respect of her staff with consistent and outstanding employee satisfaction surveys. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University.

First Hospitality Group Opens First Hilton Tri-Branded Hotel at Chicago’s McCormick Place

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) along with First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG), today announced the opening of its newest hotel, the company's first tri-branded property, which includes Hilton Garden Inn Chicago McCormick Place, Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago McCormick Place and Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago McCormick Place. Connected to McCormick Place, North America's largest convention center, and adjacent to Wintrust Arena, the property is a one-of-kind addition to downtown Chicago's South Loop and Motor Row District lodging offerings. The hotel also represents Hilton's first tri-branded property, furthering the company's leadership position in the development of multi-brand hotels. Hilton currently has a footprint of more than 85 open, multi-brand properties, with an even larger pipeline of multi-brand projects in development around the globe.

Leonard Ventura has been appointed as Executive Chef at Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel

Radisson Blu has recently appointed Leonard Ventura as Executive Chef of the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, an award-winning, modern hotel in downtown Chicago. As executive chef of the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Leonard Ventura brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industry. Ventura oversees all of the hotel's culinary operations, including menu development, special events and culinary staff. Ventura recently worked as executive chef at the Chicago Wyndham Grand Riverfront hotel, and before that as the executive chef at the Dolce Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas, Texas for 10 years. From a young age, Ventura has had a strong interest in food. His rich history of family cooking, discovery of fresh ingredients and desire to try new dishes fueled his drive to incorporate his cooking passion into a culinary career. He attended Dumas Pere L'Ecole de la Cuisine in Chicago, where he learned classic French cooking technique that became the foundation of his culinary skills. Over the years, Ventura completed stages at restaurants specializing in Italian, Spanish and Japanese cuisines. He furthered his education at the Culinary Institute of America's Napa campus. Obtaining an Intermediate Sommelier Certificate was a highlight of Ventura's career and opened many opportunities for beverage pairings events, boutique winery travels and tastings. Ventura started his professional culinary career at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Chicago in 1986. He worked under one of Chicago's most influential chefs, Fernand Gutierrez, and his mentor Pascal Vignon. His successful tenure at the Ritz led him to hold a variety of positions there, including as executive chef of the property's Carlton Club. While with the Dolce Hotels, Ventura worked from the East to the West coasts at hotel properties managing a variety of culinary operations. In addition, he was a strategic member of the task team that implemented Dolce standards in new and existing hotel properties. Ventura developed new menus that became the standard for food presentations, and refined menu composition and production companywide. Ventura has cooked for celebrities and created custom menus for exclusive private events and special functions, creating experiences that complement their luxurious setting. His broad skillset and experiences has allowed him to successfully teach, train and collaborate with various kitchen team members. Cooking is a form of art for Ventura that he loves to share with others.

Eileen S. Cole has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Eaglewood Resort & Spa

Eileen Cole comes to her new position with Eaglewood Resort & Spa with three decades of success in hospitality sales and marketing, much of it invested within the Chicagoland market. She was most recently vice president of sales & marketing for The Bricton Group of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, where she and her team successfully drove hotel and resort revenues for the company and supported its hospitality portfolio growth nationally. Previous to this, she held the position of director of sales and marketing for the Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge.

Todd Temperly has been appointed as General Manager at Waldorf Astoria Chicago and Conrad Chicago

In his new position, Temperly will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the luxury 215-room and 289-room hotels, both owned by Geller Capital Partners. With more than 20 years of experience with the Hilton brand, Temperly most recently served as the Hotel Manager for the iconic Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort on the beautiful island of Maui. In his previous role, he managed the day-to-day operations for the 776-room, 60-villa resort that spans 40-beachfront acres and includes nine elaborate pools as well as Spa Grande, which is consistently voted as Maui's #1 spa. He provided oversight of seven restaurants including the award-winning HumuHumu as well as Botero Lounge, Bistro Molokini, Café Kula, Volcano Bar and Grill, Grotto Bar, and the Grand Dining Room. Prior to that role, Temperly was the General Manager at The Marquette and Windows On Minnesota where he oversaw the entire hotel operation and strategic management of Minneapolis' most recognized and world-renowned landmark hotel. Before leading The Marquette to "Hotel of the Year" by Minnesota Lodging Association, Todd was the Hotel Manager at the legendary and historic Palmer House in Chicago. He has also held executive leadership positions at the Hilton Chicago, Palmer House, and the famed Waldorf Astoria New York.
