With more than a decade of experience working in the high-end hospitality sector, Dominic brings experience and extensive passion to his new role.After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in economics, Dominic decided to pursue his passion and turned it into his lifetime career. Having opened his first hotel at the age of 24 as Director of Nightlife for W Hotels, he has since been a part of five hotel openings.In the role of Director of Food and Beverage, he headed up luxury properties in the USA, Mexico, Turks & Caicos and Maldives, with respected brands such as COMO, St. Regis and W Hotels.

Christoph Holzapfel has been appointed as General Manager at Six Senses Con Dao

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has appointed Christoph Holzapfel as general manager of Six Senses Con Dao, set on Vietnam's breathtaking Con Son Island.Joining Six Senses Con Dao from his previous role of resort general manager at JA Manafaru in the Maldives, Christoph brings more than 25 years of experience to this role, having worked with international and independent hotel groups.Coming from a strong culinary background as an experienced executive chef, Christoph had extensive experience in Africa leading teams in restaurants as executive chef in South Africa and Tanzania as well as general management roles in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa with the Orient Express group, Abercrombie and Kent and various independent lodges and camps. He has also worked with Anantara as general manager in Abu Dhabi and has been involved with several resort pre-openings.With a passion for good food along with a keen interest in wines, Christoph's inspiration for food began at the tender age of six years in Stellenbosch, South Africa where he would don an apron and stand behind the Sunday brunch at The Lanzerac Hotel and Spa in Stellenbosch then graduating to cooking flapjacks at the live cooking station and interacting with guests. Now, 20 years later he held the role as executive sous chef at The Marine Hermanus, a five-star Relais et Chateau property on the clifftops of Hermanus.Christoph, who is an accomplished scuba diver and amateur photographer describes this posting as a coming home as he is accompanied by his Vietnamese-born wife, Thuy Nguyen.

John Allanson has been appointed as General Manager at Six Senses Con Dao

Six Senses Con Dao John Allanson joins the team as general manager, following a successful two-year role as resident manager at Six Senses Laamu, Maldives. He succeeds Edouard Grosmangin, who moves to the Seychelles as general manager for the 2015 opening of Six Senses Zil Pasyon. John’s 20 plus years of all-around experience and executive management are no less than exemplary, including a history with Rocco Forte hotels at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester. He has worked in several luxury hotels throughout the United Kingdom as a general manager since 2007, including Hoole Hall Hotel and Spa, Old Course St Andrews, Macdonald Hotels and the privately-owned Taplow House Hotel. In October, 2012, John moved abroad to join Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas. While based in the Maldives, he worked with the resort’s innovative sustainability team on policies and procedures in addition to overseeing the daily operation of the 97-villa resort. President Bernhard Bohnenberger of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas says of John’s promotion, “John infuses the kind of charismatic leadership that fosters development among our hosts and stakeholders while reinforcing the vision for an environment that helps people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them.
