Marriott International’s longer stay brand is expected to debut in Denmark’s capital in 2023

Marriott International announced today that it has signed an agreement with Danish hotel operator Core Hospitality to bring the first Residence Inn by Marriott to the Nordics. Residence Inn by Marriott Copenhagen, Nordhavn will be located in Copenhagen's North Harbour district, just five kilometres from the city center. Owned by PFA Properties, the hotel will become part of the group's prestigious Nordø development project in the North Harbour area. With construction having begun in Q2 2020, the property is expected to open in 2023.

Since joining Villa Copenhagen during the hotel build and restoration in 2019, Nini has been instrumental in communicating the hotel's identity as a sustainable wellbeing hub for the many and not the few, while nurturing a symbiotic relationship with the Danish capital's residents that champions the local way of life. Nini holds a master's degree in Marketing Communications and Management from Copenhagen Business School, in addition to a master's degree in Branding, Advertisement, and Communication from INSEEC Business School in Paris, France.

As Villa Copenhagen's Director of Operations, Lisette Jönsson is responsible for creating cohesive procedures across hotel departments and supporting the rest of the leadership team in strategy execution and revenue optimization. Lisette has established an impressive 15-year career in hospitality after graduating from Lund University in 2004, starting in a front desk position at Hotel Skansen Båstad and Grand Hotel Stockholm, before working her way up to Hotel Manager for Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport. Lisette joined Villa Copenhagen in 2019 as a member of the pre-opening team and spearheaded the seamless implementation of its COVID-19 sanitization and social distancing procedures, including keyless entry, remote or open-air check-ins, virtual check-out, and personalized food and beverage services.

Core Hospitality has appointed Swedish Camilla Jerre to lead the launch of the new 226 bedroomed Moxy Copenhagen, Marriott's lifestyle hotel brand. As the hotel's Captain, the brand's twist on the General Manager position, Camilla will be introducing Copenhagen to the Moxy brand. The hotel is due to open in the Sydhavnen district in March 2019. Moxy Hotels breaks ground in Copenhagen

Denmark has known for a while that it would be home to the world's largest hotel group's new, youthful boutique brand, Moxy Hotels. The project has now broken ground in Copenhagen where the large 228-room hotel will be operated by Danish franchisee, Core Hospitality. The hotel is expected to open in March 2019.

Scandic expands with new hotel at Copenhagen Airport planned for 2020

Scandic Hotels, the largest hotel company in the Nordic countries, is continuing to grow in Copenhagen by opening a new hotel in the developing Scanport area. Scandic Copenhagen Airport is expected to open in 2020 beside the Öresund Sound and within walking distance of Kastrup. It will be the company"s tenth hotel adjacent to an airport in the Nordic countries.
