Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa Debuts Full Property Renovation

Situated on a private beachfront location on Denarau Island - Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa - proudly announces the completion of its extensive renovation program. A 50-million-dollar capital investment, led by interior design studio CHADA whose inspiration stemmed from the hotel's local surroundings where land meets the ocean, the renovation which took three years to complete features a total transformation of guest rooms and public spaces including several new amenities and experiences for travelers to enjoy. Alexandra Ridgway has been named Director of Sales & Marketing at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa

Experienced accommodation industry specialist Alexandra Ridgway has joined the Sofitel Luxury Hotels group, having recently been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for the brand’s flagship property in Fiji, the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa.Alexandra (who commenced her management career with Sofitel’s parent company Accor in 1999 as a Key Account Manager in Accor’s Corporate office in Melbourne) was most recently with the Fraser Suites in Sydney. She spent four years with Fraser Suites working across various roles including Director of Sales & Marketing and later as Acting General Manager. Previously Alexandra’s career saw her work with several other five-star international hotels and groups, including Marriott International (Sydney Head Office) as a Senior Manager in cluster sales, the StamfordPlazaHotelSydney as Associate Director of Sales and later Director of Sales and Marketing. She also worked with the A.N.A Hotel (now the Shangri-La Sydney) as Associate Director of Sales.

Nicholas Mina has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa

Nicholas was promoted to his new position after two years as the resort’s Director of Conferences & Incentives and will relocate from Sydney to Fiji for the role. In his new expanded position, he will continue to oversee the resort’s C&I activity and in addition overlook all other segments including the wholesale and leisure markets. Nicholas originally joined Sofitel Luxury Hotels in 2008 from CI Events where he was Business Manager, armed with strong experience in hotel business development. Previously he was with Starwood Hotels and Resorts for 12 years, and the Intercontinental hotel in Sydney where he focussed on the corporate market segment. Nicholas takes over the reins from former Director of Sales & Marketing for the Sofitel in Fiji, Heather Gordon.
