Susete Santos has been appointed as Head of Business Development at Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian

With over 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Santos has held several roles across the globe working for the Hilton portfolio specialising in a range of areas including operations, marketing, human resources and business development. Most recently, she acted as Cluster Business Development Manager for Hilton hotels in Portugal.

Shona Archibald has been appointed as City Revenue Manager Edinburgh at Hilton Edinburgh Carlton

Shona Archibald has worked for Jurys Inn Hotel Group for over three years, most recently as Cluster Revenue Manager for Scotland where she was responsible for rooms revenue across the Group’s five Scottish properties. Prior to this she was Cluster Revenue Manager for the Group’s Sheffield hotel and two Newcastle-upon-Tyne properties. Shona brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked as Revenue Manager for both the five star Fairmont St Andrews Resort and the 5 star Old Golf Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa.In her new role Shona will be responsible for rooms revenue at the 211 bedroom Hilton Edinburgh Carlton.

Melanie Nocher has been appointed as Executive Assistant Manager at Radisson Blu Edinburgh

Radisson Blu Edinburgh, a leading 4-star hotel on the historic Royal Mile in Scotland’s capital city has announced the appointment of Melanie Nocher as Executive Assistant Manager. With key responsibility for the food and drink operation, the 35 year old from East Kilbride outside Glasgow will work closely with senior colleagues, including Richard Mayne, General Manager of Radisson Blu Edinburgh and Rachel Perry, Hotel Revenue Development Manager.

Will Macpherson has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West

A General Manager has been appointed to lead the team at the brand new Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West hotel, when it opens in summer 2017. Experienced hotelier Will Macpherson will be tasked with overseeing the launch and management of the new 160 bedroom modular build hotel, sited on the Heriot Watt University Campus in Edinburgh, as well as ensuring its ongoing success.

Richard Cooke has been appointed as General Manager at Rocco Forte

The Balmoral, the Rocco Forte hotel in Edinburgh, has appointed Richard Cooke as its new general manager. Cooke will be responsible for the day to day operations and strategic direction of the 168-room and 20-suite hotel and its Michelin-starred restaurant, Number One. He will also oversee the hotel’s Hadrian’s Brasserie, afternoon tea lounge Palm Court, Scotch whisky bar, the Balmoral bar and spa and the hotel’s meeting and conferencing offerings.

Martin Scott has been appointed as General Manager at G&V Royal Mile Hotel - Quorvus Collection

G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh, part of the Quorvus Collection, has announced the appointment of Martin Scott as General Manager. Martin, who has over 16 years’ experience in the industry, will be overseeing the completion of the hotel’s extensive refurbishment which began in 2015 and includes the launch of a new bar later this year.Martin previously held the position of General Manager for the Cairn Hotel Group, overseeing the successful Edinburgh launch of Hotel Indigo on Princes Street as well as the running of Juniper Edinburgh and Twenty Princes Street Grill & Smokehouse.

Douglas Winfield has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh

A general manager has been appointed to lead the team at the brand new Courtyard by Marriott in Edinburgh, due to open in autumn 2016. Experienced hotelier Douglas Winfield will be tasked with overseeing the launch of the city centre hotel, as well as ensuring its ongoing success. The new hotel, located at the top of Leith Walk within the capital’s New Town conservation area, will occupy three category-A listed Georgian townhouses – once home to the Stevenson family, including Robert Stevenson, famed Scottish lighthouse engineer and grandfather of author Robert Louis Stevenson.

Federico Ciampi has been appointed as General Manager at The Glasshouse, Autograph Collection Hotel

Edinburgh’s most luxurious hotel, The Glasshouse, has appointed a new General Manager as it marks four months since relaunching under the Autograph Collection. Federico Ciampi brings more than 10 years experience in the hospitality industry from working in a number of prestigious upscale and luxury venues in the UK including The Academy in London.

Lawder Smith has been appointed General Manager of Threadneedles (www.hotelthreadneedles.co.uk), the Square Mile’s original five-star boutique hotel, and Area Manager of The Glasshouse (www.theglasshouse.co.uk) in Edinburgh and The Academy in Bloomsbury, London (www.theacademyhotel.co.uk). The appointment is with immediate effect and follows the launch of The Autograph Collection in the UK. Lawder Smith has more than 30 years hospitality experience. He started his career in F&B at The Waldorf Hotel London and has since enjoyed a number of managerial postings around the UK including the former Manor House Hotel (now Bovey Castle); the Imperial Torquay, Area GM for Hilton Hotels in Nottingham, Leicester & Corby; General Manager at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire and a more recent position with Crowne Plaza Kensington. His career has also seen a glittering list of awards from Hilton Hotels "Newcomer of the Year” 2001 to winning European Crowne Plaza Hotel of the Year 2012 for Kensington.
